Virtual Tour - FAQ

1) How long does the process take?

Usually 2 hours or less for shooting and 5-7 business days for processing.

2) What time of day should we schedule our virtual tour photo shoot?

We can schedule a photo shoot any time anytime we have a photographer not scheduled for a shoot. The best times are either before your store opens or after the business day. This way it doesn’t disturb your normal work day, Photographers don’t have to worry about blurring people’s faces or being in the way.

3) Can there be customers during the shoot?

We recommend shooting after hours when customers are not present.  If time is factor and customers must be present during the shoot we can use blurring techniques in the editing process for an additional charge to protect the customer’s privacy and adhere to Google’s legal standards.

4) Which areas of my businesses will be photographed?

You can tell us exactly what you want to show off and what you do not want the public to see. Typically if it is an area in your store or business that customers, or clients see when they are in your business, we suggest making that a part of your tour. Unorganized offices, storage areas and bathrooms can be left off of this tour. Our Photographers can discuss these specifics before or during the shoot.

5) Can I embed these images on my business website?

Yes! Embed it on to your business website, link it to share on social media networks, blogs, e-mail and much more.

6) Do I own the Photographs taken by CAM AGENCY?

Yes, you will own the photos taken by CAM AGENCY once you have paid for this service and the shoot is complete. Keep in mind, by signing the agreement provided by CAM AGENCY you are also licensing the use of the photos to Google, who will publish the imagery.

7) What will the CAM AGENCY Photographer differently than I would do myself?

CAM AGENCY photographers are trained to use the specialized GOPRO 360, IRIS 360, Canon 5D camera rigs to create high quality 360 virtual tours of any interior, working with common challenges such as low lighting and light spaces. The photographers are also certified to take pictures using fisheye lenses and rotating camera turrets (mounted on tripods) that will be transformed into a 360 degree panoramic image and a walkthrough of your business. Once the photographers have uploaded the pictures from their cameras, Google’s processing pipelines use sophisticated image stitching, HDR, image matching and other technologies to produce these panoramic tours.

8) Will Google be using the imagery in other applications besides Google+ Local pages?

Google may use these images in other products and services in new ways that will make your business information more useful and accessible to users. For example, further integration with Google Maps will allow customers to find these images easily from the 360-degree Street View imagery of nearby roads for many locations.

9) Who from my business can give legal permission for the photo shoot?

You must have the proper authority to grant a CAM AGENCY photographer access to the business premises to take photographs and subsequently to allow Google to use those photographs in its products and services. People with this authority include the owner of the business or a director or manager with the authority to make those commitments on behalf of the business. Please note that by agreeing to the Terms and Conditions and the Google Terms of Service before your photo shoot, you are confirming that you have the authority to make that commitment.

10) How much does it cost?

This will be much less than traditional photography but the value will be far greater for an immersive engaging experience.  The price is based on the number of panos and the areas you wish to include in the virtual tour. Our consultants are available to answer questions and provide an estimate.
